The Chocolate Christmas
(The Deseret News dropped the title...)

http://www.deseretnews.com/article/1,5143,705272068,00.html

Without telling my wife beforehand I submitted a story about her childhood to a writing contest sponsored by the Deseret News. Well, all I can say is that I got lucky! They called me about a week ago and told me they would be publishing it on the 22nd. I was planning to watch for it in the paper tomorrow, but I happened to check the paper today and was surprised to see it on the front page! I definitely won't complain. I thought it was added luck that they chose this story for the Sunday edition. I wrapped up the paper and a Kit Kat bar and gave it to my wife with breakfast in bed today. I don't know what to do when women cry, but I think that meant she liked it...

What a great story about a great woman!! Soon is the greatest example to us all in so many ways - especially when it comes to surviving and being grateful, especially for the small things! You are a fabulous writer and tell her story in a heartfelt touching way! What a guy - Once again I'm proud to say "that's my brother!"

Great job Jason! It's nice to honor your wife like that and good to see the warm response from other people.

I love this story. I can barely read it without crying. Even though SoonHee has been thru so much, she didn't let it destroy her, she has become better because of it. She is a such a great person.
